I did wake up to a beautiful sunny day again but with no wind. That's not common because there is always quite heavy blow from some direction. Those wind mills, the symbols of this island among the pelicans, proove it. I yesterday mentioned that those pelicans were the biggest birds, I've seen . Not really, there are these African long legged runners, who do not fly, the head over 2 meters high. I never really did count them into bird category. Many reptiles lay eggs too, but nobody calls them birds.
So, a hot day . I had a decent breakfast, bacon and fried eggs with some chips and one liter of water around 11 am. Then I kept strolling until I felt it necessary to have a beer on the water front. There was also a second one, but quite slow one, because I was concentrating with hot phone messages with her, Kaisa my love.
Then I was hot all over ,and decided to move to a cool place to Rhapsody, and sweet Daniela. There was a busy day today, and I did not have many possibilities to talk with her. But I did remember, when she yesterday told to me, that she hated in school geography, and gave every European country a meaning from the form at the map to help her memory. Italy was of course a booth, I do not remember the other ones ,
but Finland was a tiger !? Then I discovered that in Yugoslavia that time
,they might have had old maps from before WW2, where still Karelia and Petsamo were part of Finland. With child's imagination there was a lying tiger.
Then opposite of me arrived a young American family , Troy & Kristie Derda with teir sons Carson 6 and Hudson 4 from Burlington, Wisconsin. We soon were talking together, and I heard they were doing a great cruise from Spain to Egypt. They had also bought for themselves those Greek amulets Bad Eye, without knowing that these suppose to protect them from all evil. They were very happy, when I told them this.
I later visited one beautiful but very expensive bar for one ouzo and interviewed my friendly waitress . She was Miriam from Sydney, and was working and travelling for three years away from home.
After having a good tuna salad ,I visited my local record shop. And the shop keeper,my soul friend, young Dimitris Gryparis very soon ( knowing already my taste ) found a couple of CD's of Greek music I had to have.
